About Professional Nurses Service

Professional Nurses Service is a progressive health care agency, offering high tech, convalescent and respite care nursing. Although home care is our primary focus, we also provide supplementary staffing to nursing facilities and hospitals.

Professional Nurses Service, Inc. was founded in Burlington in 1980 by two Vermont nurses. The company has grown to include over 200 employees, who deliver care throughout the state. Today, we celebrate creating sustainable Health Services.

Beginning February, 2008, Professional Nurses Service will be formally owned by its current shareholders and Bayada Nurses in a fifty-fifty partnership.

We are proud to say that our mission remains focused on excellence in customer service.

We are a Medicare Certified Home Health Agency and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

We have great respect for modern medicine and the scientific method, and we also are comfortable with holistic practices. We believe the mind and body work as one.
