News from Professional Nurses Service Bayada Nurses helps bring home care to Vermonters without services. Professional Nurses Service says their 50/50 partnership is a win for everyone. Beginning February, 2008, Professional Nurses Service will be formally owned by its current shareholders and Bayada Nurses in a fifty-fifty partnership. When Professional Nurses announced last November that it would be forced to close its doors before Christmas unless an investor could be found. Bayada Nurses, a New Jersey-based home health care company with 130 offices in 16 states, stepped in to help. According to a state finding, one-percent of Vermonters in need of home health services go without care due to a shortage of caregivers and agencies. With Vermont’s aging population, home care demand is expected to increase 8 to 10 percent annually over the next 15 years. Professional Nurses Service currently provides care annually to more than 1,000 Vermonters in their homes. Both companies feel combining Professional Nurses’ exceptional care with Bayada’s resources and more than 30 years of success in home care will help ensure the continuation of outstanding home health services in the state of Vermont. Professional Nurses Service founder Jean McHenry is convinced the partnership is also an important investment in Vermont and the future of the state’s economy. “Bayada’s investment isn’t just going to help Professional Nurses Service deliver uninterrupted care for our clients. It also means new, better paying jobs for Vermonters. Home health care demand in the second oldest state in the nation is soaring. Bayada’s partnership with Professional Nurses Service is a win for our clients, a win for our employees, and a big win for the state of Vermont and those seeking employment.” Bayada Nurses president and founder Mark Baiada had nothing but praise for Professional Nurses Service. “We respect the quality of care and commitment to service that Professional Nurses Service Founder Jean McHenry and all the Professional Nurses Service staff have made over the past 28 years. Bayada’s goals are the same—providing quality, reliable home care. I believe both organizations will benefit, as will Vermonters in need of home health care in the years ahead.” About Bayada Nurses Website: http://www.bayada.com Founded in 1975 by J.
